Behavior Analysis Online Master’s Degree Program Director; Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice (Remote)

About the role

The Department of Behavior Analysis in the School of Sciences and Health Professions (SSHP) invites applications for a contract non-tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice and Online Master’s Degree Program Director (“Director”) within the Behavior Analysis online Master’s degree program. This remote position starts on September 1, 2026 (exact date negotiable), with preference given to candidates available in a hybrid capacity. Periodic travel to the Boston campus may be expected.

We seek innovative educators and scholars with demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development, a commitment to supporting program rigor and accreditation standards, experience supervising student research, and knowledge of contemporary challenges in behavior analysis. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to working with individuals across a broad range of social and personal identities and perspectives.

The Director will coordinate and support the Online Master’s Degree Program, oversee program faculty and students, manage administrative tasks, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards. The role includes maintaining a teaching course load within the online Master’s program, with potential opportunities to teach in other departmental programs (e.g., Doctoral or campus Master’s programs).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the online Master’s Degree Program, including faculty, students, student orientation, registration, and program tracking.
• Conduct student and faculty performance assessments.
• Oversee coursework and degree completion for all online Master’s students.
• Ensure fidelity and compliance with the Association for Behavior Analysts International (ABAI) accreditation standards.
• Vet and manage program adjunct faculty and documentation; ensure faculty meet and maintain required qualifications for teaching coursework.
• Maintain records and provide supervision, support, and training to faculty within the program.
• Ensure compliance with program and ABAI policies and protocols.
• Complete Simmons University training and maintain ABAI, Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB), and CITI certifications.
• Adhere to Simmons University standards for research and supervision (e.g., Institutional Review Board).

Requirements

• PhD in Behavior Analysis or a closely related field.
• Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA® or BCBA-D®) in good standing.
• Meets Behavior Analysis Certification Board® standards for providing supervision.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising students seeking Board Certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising BCBAs® or BCBA-Ds®.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising student research.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting behavior analytic human subjects research and/or animal research, including IRB and/or IACUC approval processes.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching graduate-level behavior analytic coursework.
• Experience teaching in an online learning environment.
• A record of professional presentations and empirical research publications.
• Demonstrated ability to work with students across a broad range of social and personal identities and perspectives.
• Evidence of organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated experience working within university systems, policies, and processes to manage common issues in higher education.
• Demonstrated commitment to collegiality and professional collaboration.

The Department of Behavior Analysis offers outstanding graduate training for students seeking to improve lives through the science of behavior analysis. The rigorous curriculum focuses on behavior analytic research methods and broad applications across clinical and research areas, emphasizing the scientist-practitioner model. Students develop an in-depth understanding of behavior principles, assessment, behavior change methodologies, evidence-based instruction, and professional and research ethics. Pay

Salary ranges:

• Assistant Professor of Practice: $67,500 - $82,500
• Associate Professor of Practice: $76,500 - $93,500

Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, education, skills, equity, and external market benchmarks.
