Behavior Aide

Overview

SESI partners with school districts to run in-district classrooms and standalone schools meeting the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of special and alternative education students. Responsibilities

• Support assigned students as per their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
• Provide accommodations and modifications as needed.
• Develop and modify behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans and track data.
• Use behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Employ de-escalation techniques and physical restraint if necessary.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment.
• Maintain supervision of students, including transportation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Offer personal care support.
• Communicate with parents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience working in educational settings with students needing behavioral interventions preferred.

• Physical requirements: Running short distances, lifting up to 50 pounds, operating computers/tablets, noticing and responding to non-verbal cues, maintaining composure.
