Behavior Aide

Overview

SESI partners with school districts to run in-district classrooms and standalone schools that cater to the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of special and alternative education students. Responsibilities

• Work in a setting with diverse students from various backgrounds.
• Support an assigned student according to their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
• Develop and modify behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans and track data.
• Use behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Employ de-escalation techniques and crisis management.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment.
• Maintain supervision of students, including transportation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate with parents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Experience working in educational settings with students needing intensive behavioral interventions preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to run short distances and move swiftly.
• Ability to lift and assist students with mobility challenges.
• Skill in managing fine motor tasks.
• Ability to operate computers/tablets for up to 8 hours daily.
• Capacity to notice and respond to non-verbal cues.
• Ability to remain calm and composed during demanding situations.
