About the role

NatuurGenoten is a warm initiative where people with psychological vulnerabilities come together in nature to hike (or engage in other activities), relax, and connect. We believe nature and connection can be healing. As a volunteer guide, you’ll lead small groups of participants into local nature areas.

Do you know the best nature spots in your region? Do you enjoy hiking or have another form of nature experience you’d like to share with peers? Are you willing to explore this further with fellow members of UilenSpiegel? Then you might be the perfect guide for a NatuurGenoten group in your area!

Responsibilities

• Lead a small group on hikes or nature activities with one or two other volunteers.
• Create a warm, safe atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
• Be approachable and motivating while respecting each participant’s pace.
• Encourage participants to enjoy and connect with nature and each other at their own pace.
• Organize hikes or other nature activities in local green spaces (forests, parks, etc.) and create a simple plan for each outing.
• Co-lead the group, ensuring a safe, accessible, and motivating environment.
• Listen, empathize, and adapt to diverse participants.
• Help promote your NatuurGenoten activities to engage peers in your region.
• Dedicate approximately 6 hours per month (including the activity and preparation).
• Collaborate with a local Natuurpunt association (optional).
