About the role

The Before School Program Leader at THE Y VISION FOR 2030 is responsible for enhancing individual, staff, family, and community health & wellbeing through academic enrichment, mentorship, and outdoor recreational activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and participate in specialized and theme-based curriculum tailored to individual children's needs.
  • Identify and report critical incidents, and enforce safety regulations both virtual and in-person.
  • Ensure the delivery method, content, and facilitation of programs meet child-safe protocols.
  • Utilize Out of School Time best practices to ensure consistent and safe programming.
  • Maintain necessary administrative records for programming.
  • Communicate respectfully with staff, participants, parents, and volunteers.
  • Plan youth program activities with input from parents, participants, and staff.
  • Ensure all youth programs meet safety and security requirements per YSF guidelines.
  • Complete all mandatory ADP LMS safety training and Y-USA e-Learning before the first shift in the facility.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting, and risk management.
  • Demonstrate the Character Counts values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility in all dealings with members, guests, volunteers, and fellow staff.
  • Develop and inspire others to achieve their highest potential.

Requirements

  • Fingerprints will be taken upon commencement of employment and will be submitted to the Association Office human resources department prior to beginning the first day of work.
  • Staff working on school campuses may be required to complete additional COVID safety trainings.

Qualifications

  • Physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Experience working with children and a passion for community development.
  • Ability to plan and implement specialized and theme-based curriculum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Out of School Time best practices.
  • Experience with YMCA policies and procedures.

Pay

$20 - $25 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, typically starting before school begins and ending after school ends.
