ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows and enforces all Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements.
  • Works directly and actively supervises and engages with students during times they are present in the program.
  • Exhibits excellent communication with parents, students, school staff, district staff and co-workers.
  • Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff.
  • Promotes and markets the program for before and after care and full days.
  • Attends and participates in professional development trainings as required by licensing and district.
  • Affords assistance in implementing quality lesson plans for every day the program is in operation.
  • Affords assistance in creating lesson plans.
  • Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff.
  • Promotes and markets the program for before and after care and full days.
  • Affords assistance in maintaining, proper storage, and repair of equipment and supplies.
  • Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, projects and program quality.
  • Creates and implements activities and field trips for full day programming.
  • Affords attendance at monthly program staff meetings as required by director.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Age 18 or over.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with children.
  • Completed at least one of the following qualifications:
    • At least three (3) months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the ages of four (4) who are not related to the individual;
    • A current early childhood professional credential level I one (1) or higher in version 3.0 as determined by the Department based on its Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0 Worksheet.
  • Completes at least 15 clock hours of training each year from June 1 through May 31.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Light work strength level (lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds).
  • Works both indoors and outdoors.
  • Typically a loud noise level.
  • Occasional lifting, pulling, and/or pushing.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, climbing.
  • Visual concentration.
  • Squatting.
  • Working with others.
