Before and After School Group Leader - O'Fallon IL YMCA

Responsibilities

• Perform general duties and other tasks as assigned by the Site Director.
• Ensure the individual needs of children are met within program guidelines.
• Utilize sound judgment and discretionary skills in accordance with Gateway Region YMCA policies.
• Maintain positive relationships with diverse groups, including staff, parents, volunteers, and program site administration, demonstrating strong public relation skills.
• Ensure YMCA policies and guidelines are followed at all times.
• Maintain an environment that ensures children's safety and well-being.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Serve as support staff based on program participants' needs, ensuring approved levels of support, assistance, and record-keeping.
• Ensure children receiving support are fully included in all site activities, as reasonably expected based on documented ability.
• Provide children opportunities to build self-help and independence skills.
• Enforce zero tolerance for abuse and actively participate in the protection of youth and teens.
