About the role

We're hiring for our Before & After School Programs! Join AlphaBEST Education on July 16 for on-the-spot interviews for: Site Directors, Group Leaders, and Assistant Group Leaders at Northwood Middle School.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities (World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts)
  • Make child safety the top priority at all times
  • Keep the space clean and organized
  • Create an environment where kids feel supported and included
  • Build strong relationships with teammates, kids, families, and school staff
  • Train and support student explorers through exciting adventures in fitness, the arts, technology, and more!
  • Encourage creativity and intellectual curiosity by building on students' interests and talents

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • CPR and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting (up to 25 pounds)
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 19 years old
  • Must be registered and have full clearance from the state childcare licensing agency
  • Must provide proof of experience as required by state childcare licensing regulations (see below)
  • Must complete 20 credits (semester system) or 30 credits (quarter system) of training at a college/university AND at least 1 year of qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Child Care Center (or comparable group care program)
  • Must have 2 or more years of qualifying teaching experience (with at least one year as a teacher) in a Certified Child Care Center (or comparable group care program)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA in a related field) or Associate's Degree (AS/AA in a related field)
  • A 1-year state or nationally recognized credential (related to school-age care)

Skills

  • Experience working with children in a structured, high-energy environment
  • Child safety awareness and adherence to procedures
  • Flexibility, reliability, and readiness to assist in various capacities

Schedule

No weekends! Part time 6:00-8:30am 2:45-6:00pm
