Before and After School Group Leader

Location: Churchland Academy Elementary School, Portsmouth, VA

About the role

AlphaBEST Education provides extended day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to inspire and engage students while they discover and learn beyond the school day in a fun, safe environment. As an AlphaBEST Group Leader, you'll help shape meaningful before and after school moments that help kids learn, grow, and thrive.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities (World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts)
• Make child safety the top priority at all times
• Keep the space clean and organized
• Help create an environment where kids feel supported and included
• Build strong relationships with teammates, kids, families, and school staff

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting (up to 25 pounds)
• Must be at least 18 years old
• 6 months experience instructing children in a group setting
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs

• Flexible, reliable, and ready to jump in wherever needed

Schedule

• AM shift: 6:00am–9:00am
• PM shift: 3:30pm–6:00pm
• Must work both shifts

Pay

$16.00 per hour
