Before and After School Group Leader
Location: Melwood Elementary School, Upper Marlboro, MD
Pay
$17.50 per hour
Schedule
- AM shift: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM
- PM shift: 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM
About the Role
AlphaBEST Education provides extended day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to inspire and engage students while they discover and learn beyond the school day in a fun, safe environment. As an AlphaBEST Group Leader, you'll help shape meaningful before and after school moments that help kids learn, grow, and thrive.
Responsibilities
- Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities (World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts)
- Make child safety the top priority at all times
- Keep the space clean and organized
- Help create an environment where kids feel supported and included
- Build strong relationships with teammates, kids, families, and school staff
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- CPR and First Aid certification required
- 90 Hour Certification in school age or early childhood, or at least one of the following certificates:
- 45 hours growth and development
- 45 hours school age curriculum
AlphaBEST provides certification training for Group Leader and Site Director positions and can enroll you in the necessary classes to complete the other training.
- Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting (up to 25 pounds)
