Before & Aftercare Lead Teacher

About the Role

Lead the Before & After Care Program for K–5th grade students. This role focuses on creating an engaging, safe, and fun environment where school-age children can laugh, learn, and unwind between the school day and pickup.

What You'll Do Every Day

• Design and deliver creative, age-appropriate curriculum for K–5
• Champion the physical, emotional, and developmental growth of each child
• Keep the classroom safe, energetic, and genuinely fun
• Build real relationships with kids, families, and fellow teachers
• Lead by example — model the warmth and curiosity you want to see

Requirements

• Minimum qualification: MSDE 90-hour School-Age Certification, or a CDA with School-Age Endorsement
• 3 years of relevant experience (ideal)
• Strong understanding of child development and instructional strategies
• Knowledge of MSDE regulations
• A warm, friendly, and cool-tempered presence
• Solid communication skills — verbal and written
• Rock-solid reliability and punctuality
• Highly organized, able to juggle priorities and multitask
• A true team player who genuinely enjoys working with others

Pay

Lead Teacher: $21–$25/hr | Assistant Teacher: $19–$21/hr (based on credentials and experience).

About the Campuses

• Bells Mill/Potomac — Nestled in a quiet neighborhood between Cabin John Middle and Bells Mill Elementary Schools. Our first free-standing campus to open, serving Potomac families for years.
• Apple Ridge/Montgomery Village — Situated next to the recreation center on Apple Ridge Road, serving families in Gaithersburg, Germantown, Montgomery Village, Laytonsville, and Clarksburg.
