Before & After Care Worker

About the Role
If you love inspiring and motivating young learners and want to put students first in education, CSUSA is the right place for you. As a Before & After Care Worker, you will assist in maintaining an orderly, safe, and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria, on the playground, and in other designated locations by helping and supervising students during authorized before or after school programs in accordance with CSUSA policy and established school procedures.
This position is in the public eye, and program assistants must always reflect a professional manner while providing excellent customer service. Candidates must be able to resolve conflicts with children and parents, possess the ability to be firm but friendly, and must be courteous and professional when dealing with parents, children, and co-workers.
Responsibilities
- Follow proper student sign-in and dismissal procedures for Before Care.
- Follow proper student check-in and dismissal procedures for After Care.
- Monitor students and observe who enters and leaves the childcare area.
- Pass out snacks and play with students on the playground.
- Tutor and assist students with homework.
- Resolve conflicts with children and parents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or higher education credential.
- Previous experience as a daycare assistant or summer camp counselor (preferred).
- Must enjoy working with children.

Work Environment
- Usual school working conditions.
- May be noisy during high student traffic.
Physical Demands
- No physical exertion required.
- Somewhat stressful due to frequent student activity.
- Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
