As a Before & After Care Worker, you will assist in maintaining an orderly, safe, and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria, on the playground, and in other designated locations by supervising students during authorized before or after school programs in accordance with CSUSA policy and established school procedures.
Responsibilities
- Follow proper student sign-in and dismissal procedures for Before Care.
- Follow proper student check-in and dismissal procedures for After Care.
- Monitor students and observe who enters and leaves the childcare area.
- Pass out snacks and play with students on the playground.
- Tutor and assist students with homework.
- Resolve conflicts with children and parents.
- Reflect a professional manner and provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or higher education credential.
- Previous experience as a daycare assistant or summer camp counselor (preferred).
- Must enjoy working with children.
- Commitment to company values.
- Ability to be firm but friendly, courteous, and professional when dealing with parents, children, and coworkers.
Work Environment
- Usual school working conditions, which may be noisy during high student traffic.
Physical Demands
- Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
- Somewhat stressful due to frequent student activity.
- No significant physical exertion required.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
