About the role
This isn’t a high-volume bar job. It’s closer to being the person who sets the tone for the evening — welcoming guests into a beautifully curated lounge, making thoughtful drinks, creating a great first impression, and knowing how to make people feel at home.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests into the lounge and provide warm, professional service from arrival through departure.
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks and light bites with consistency and care.
- Build a thoughtful NA menu and recommend drinks based on guest preferences.
- Learn and speak confidently about local spirits, wines, cider, and restaurants.
- Set up, stock, and close the bar according to checklist and service standards.
- Maintain clean, organized bar stations, glassware, and service areas.
- Handle point-of-sale transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Monitor guest comfort and alcohol consumption, and serve in accordance with all legal and house policies.
- Keep the lounge welcoming, tidy, and ready for guests throughout the shift.
- Assist with inventory, ordering, restocking, and product rotation as needed.
- Create a memorable guest experience that reflects the inn’s standard of warm, thoughtful hospitality.
Requirements

- You’re calm, organized, and comfortable behind a bar.
- You can move efficiently without losing your attention to detail.
- You know how to read a room and adjust your pace and approach.
- You enjoy talking with guests and making thoughtful recommendations.
- You’re excited about both classic cocktails and non-alcoholic beverage service.
- You can work independently once the shift is underway.
- You take pride in keeping a space polished, clean, and inviting.
Qualifications
- Prior bartending or beverage service experience preferred.
- TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol, or similar certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Must be 21+ and legally authorized to serve alcohol.
- Reliable transportation to Greenwich, CT.
- Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Able to work in a historic property environment, including stairs as needed.
- Customer-facing service experience strongly preferred.
- Must be able to follow all Connecticut alcohol service laws and house policies.
