About the Role
Become a Middle School Tutor! Give just one hour a week to help a Cambridge student in grades 6-8 with homework, study skills, and confidence-building.
Responsibilities
- Volunteer at an after school Learning Center at one of the five Cambridge Upper Schools
- Help students with homework, study skills, and confidence-building
Schedule
- Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays (3:20-4:30 PM)
Qualifications
- Commit to giving just one hour per week

About Cambridge School Volunteers
Established in 1966, Cambridge School Volunteers unites the Cambridge community to help Cambridge Public Schools students feel seen, supported, and successful. As an independent nonprofit operating within all 16 Cambridge Public Schools, we offer free, easy-to-access tutoring, mentorship, and classroom programming. Our professional staff develops, coordinates, and evaluates our programs, enabling us to enhance the student experience without extra burden on educators. Each program aligns intentionally with District goals, leveraging longstanding organizational partnerships and over 600 engaged volunteers to respond flexibly to emerging needs. These dedicated volunteers show up with enthusiasm and joy, honoring students' identities and building genuine relationships that create a safe space for learning. By harnessing the power of our diverse, innovation city, we enrich the lives of all involved, building a stronger community and inspiring every student to reach their fullest potential.
