Become a Foster Family

Treatment Foster Parents Intercept Health is a licensed provider of Treatment Foster Care (TFC) in Virginia, partnering with individuals and families to serve as Treatment Foster Parents for the over 5,000 children in Virginia's foster care system.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old and reside in Virginia
• Married or single (not cohabitating)
• Physically able to pass a physical exam and emotionally stable
• Financially stable without the use of State assistance
• Provide space in your home to accommodate a foster child
• Willing to work as a member of the TFC team
• Help a child cope with separation, loss, and grief
• Nurture a child's safe connection with biological family and return‑home goals
• Preserve relationships for the child while building new ones
• Comply with licensing standards for foster family homes
• Pass a background check
• Provide a valid driver’s license and have an insured vehicle
