We are currently looking for Graders to join our Beckett team to authenticate and grade trading cards (sports, non-sports, and trading card game (TCG) cards alike). Ideal candidates will possess comprehensive industry knowledge of trading cards, tickets and other sports, non-sports and TCG collectibles, be an expert in Beckett’s grading standards, and be able to add experience and depth to Beckett’s Grading Team. Individuals should be detail oriented, have good organization skills, be able to focus on cards over long periods of time, and be able to work in a positive team environment. Preferred applicants will have one to three years of grading experience as a professional, dealer or collector. You’ll report to the Director of Graders, Beckett and work from our Plano, TX office. Onsite Requirement: This role requires you to be onsite in the office 5 days per week. What You’ll Do Grade required daily goal of sport, non-sports, gaming and trading card gamesTrain daily for continued growth in knowledge of counterfeits and tampered/altered cardsAssist in completing corporate/project ordersStay up to date on latest news, trends, and insights relevant to the hobby/marketTravel for trade showsBecome proficient in BGS grading standards and scalesThrive in a team environment with the ability to work independentlyAssist in training for various grader levelsSafely handle and account for valuable merchandise, ensuring its security and proper handling throughout all process stagesOther duties as assigned Who You Are 1-10+ years of card grader experienceCore knowledge based in gaming and trading card gamesKnowledge of vintage cardsUnderstanding of the BGS grading scale and standardsAbility to spot counterfeits and to detect numerous tampered/altered cardsKnowledge of how to properly use jeweler’s loupe and decimal/fractional rulersMeticulous with exceptional attention to detail in proper card handling and careAbility to concentrate on repetitive precision tasksRelocation to Dallas if applicableSalary to commensurate with experience and ability.Highschool diploma or equivalent*Must be 18 or older Physical Requirements Working in a seated position in front of a computer screen for extended periods of timeAbility to function in an environment with low lighting and where special 8W LED desk lamps are used to highlight and focus on the trading cardsAbility to functionally manipulate small magnification loupes and rulers Ability to read small print and accurately discern print quality and slight imperfections and alterations on collectible productsAbility to carry trays with orders weighing up to 20 lbs. to/from your cubicle Hourly Rate: The hourly range for this position is $20.00-$30.00. Actual compensation in this range will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
