About the role

Location: New York, NY. Vogue seeks a beauty writer to join its fast‑paced web team. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of experience writing for a publication about beauty and wellness, with an interest in how these subjects fit into the larger cultural landscape (including film and television, politics, celebrity, fashion, and beyond). Understanding what makes a story right for Vogue is key.

Responsibilities

• Publish 25 to 30 stories per month for Vogue.com, ideally a mix of breaking news, SEO, syndicated, and trending content.
• Pitch and write short daily news breakouts in a timely manner.
• Have a keen eye to spot both trends and news.
• Help ideate and execute content surrounding Vogue’s tentpole events (awards season, fashion month, the Met Gala, and Vogue World).
• Facility with a CMS is expected, as the candidate will need to work on story production and image sourcing, and collaborate with the team across all editorial calendars.
• Work collaboratively with Vogue’s global markets on some stories and packages.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience writing for a publication about beauty and wellness.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in magazine, newspaper, or digital feature writing.
• Interest in how beauty and wellness fit into the larger cultural landscape.
• Understanding of what makes a story right for Vogue.

Skills

• Deadline‑driven, detail‑oriented, and self‑motivated.
• Able to manage multiple projects at once and keep pace with a digital‑first role.
• Writes cleanly with a strong sense of perspective and point of view.
• Strong portfolio of published work showing range, originality, and voice.
• Experience reporting on beauty, wellness, health, culture, or fashion.
• Sound editorial judgment and clear understanding of Vogue’s tone and audience.

Pay

The expected base salary range for this position is from $75K to $85K.
