Beauty Sales - MAC - International Plaza

About the role

As a member of the Nordstrom Beauty community, you'll create personalized beauty experiences for customers and be part of a passionate team that values your unique skills. The role involves engaging customers to understand their needs and maximizing sales in on-trend and luxury beauty brands. Ideal candidates are passionate about beauty trends, makeup, and skincare, with the ability to build a customer following both in-store and digitally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct makeup applications, skincare analyses, and recommend products based on customers’ beauty goals
• Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers
• Set and achieve sales goals for both in-store and digital selling using effective selling tools (including text and social media)
• Book appointments and drive sales for in-store Beauty events and services
• Keep the department customer-ready through organization and cleanliness
• Stay up-to-date with the latest beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through trainings provided by Nordstrom and brand partners
• Manage sales, refunds, exchanges, and build customer loyalty by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts

Requirements

• Passion for customer service and beauty, including trends, makeup application, and skincare
• Excellent ability to connect with customers, proactively handle customer concerns, and contribute to a positive team environment
• Empathy and respect for all customers, providing a supportive environment during makeup and skincare application
• Strong multitasking, organization, and follow-through skills
• Drive to achieve sales goals, with interest in using networking and technology
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends

Physical Requirements

• Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
• Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting these items above the head
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds

Pay

The pay range for this role is $19.10 - $19.90 hourly, dependent on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Commission varies based on the merchandise sold: 3% to 14.5% for apparel, shoes, and accessories; 3% for Beauty and Men’s Fragrance sales roles. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.
