Responsibilities
- Handle transactions and provide excellent service to customers.
- Ensure a smooth checkout experience.
- Provide customer service skills including:
- A friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and requests professionally.
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies in cash or change.
- Performing basic arithmetic to handle transactions and provide accurate change.
- Managing multiple tasks efficiently, such as scanning items, bagging, and handling payments.
- Resolving issues like transaction errors, customer complaints, or discrepancies.
- Managing checkout lines and reducing customer wait times.
- Operating a Point-of-Sale (POS) system and related tools.
- Handling different forms of payment (credit/debit cards, cash, gift cards, etc.).
- Maintaining integrity and trustworthiness during transactions.
- Following company policies regarding cash handling and security procedures.
- Collaborate with other staff members to maintain efficient store operations.
- Assist in other duties as needed, such as restocking or cleaning.
Qualifications
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Experience in a retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
