About the role
The Cosmetic Beauty Advisor ensures the uniform execution of the Belk direction within their store and reports to the Sales Team Manager/Store Manager.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed personal sales per hour goals.
- Demonstrate excellent selling skills and customer service as a role model.
- Execute successful promotions, special events, pre-sells, and GWP’s.
- Drive sales through customer clienteling.
- Work with store management to optimize business-to-business opportunities.
- Achieve assigned dollar line goal.
- Identify and reduce shrinkage in the area.
- Meet or exceed SPH (sales per hour) and credit application goals.
- Thank each customer by name following a purchase.
- Handle each transaction efficiently and accurately.
- Provide a high level of customer service to support Customer Satisfaction Surveys (CSS).
- Build and maintain a customer clientele base.
- Record and protect personal identifying customer information.
- Maintain floor and stock areas consistent with store standards in presentation and hygiene.
- Unpack new merchandise in a timely manner without obstructing customer access.
- Ensure timely set-up, including signage for promotional events.
- Follow procedures for all systems including AIR, counts, markdowns, retickets, inventory control, and RTV’s.
- Maintain Belk and vendor professional dress standards (uniforms) and appearance.
- Cooperate with fellow associates and management.
- Comply with store policies concerning attendance, tardiness, and the associate handbook.
- Accept additional duties or share responsibilities during busy times or as requested by management.
- Assist with all non-sell duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- No formal education requirement.
- Retail experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and shift rotation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use a computer keyboard, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
- Hand manipulation to remove sensor tags.
- Ability to push/pull 100-500 pounds when moving stock carts.
- Task demands vary due to different types of merchandise.
- Stocking requirements may involve reaching above and below shoulder level and lifting 25-50 pound boxes.
- Ability to apply treatment/make-up to a customer's face.
