About the role
The Nordstrom Beauty Department seeks individuals passionate about customer service and beauty trends to join our team as a Beauty Counter Manager. This role combines elements of sales and education, focusing on creating personalized beauty experiences and building a loyal customer base.
Responsibilities
- Conduct makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product recommendations based on customer needs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a welcoming and inclusive store environment
- Create and achieve personal and counter sales goals using in-store and digital selling tools
- Manage vendor events and promotions, maintaining strong vendor relationships to boost business
- Stay updated on beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through training provided by Nordstrom and luxury brands
- Ensure the department is always ready for customers through organization and cleanliness
- Own the Nordstrom Rewards program by opening new accounts and managing customer loyalty
Requirements
- Passion for customer service and beauty, including trends, makeup application, and skincare
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to connect with customers and handle concerns professionally
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Drive to achieve sales goals, with interest in leveraging networking and technology
- Flexible schedule, capable of working evenings and weekends as needed
- Physical stamina for continuous movement, including bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a sales or customer service role preferred
- Knowledge of beauty trends and products
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay
The pay range for this role is $29.65 - $30.85 hourly, with commissions varying based on the merchandise sold. For Los Angeles or San Francisco applicants, please note that background checks will be conducted after a conditional offer is made.
