About the role

The Sales Associate/Beauty Advisor will focus on creating a memorable shopping experience for customers by focusing on one primary objective. This includes building relationships, inspiring loyalty, recommending additional and complimentary products, informing customers of current promotions and events, setting up advertising displays, arranging merchandise, ensuring customers are informed about and enrolled in the Loyalty program, completing cash and other monetary transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining a professional store environment, communicating any inventory issues, demonstrating the Sally Beauty Culture Values, adhering to the company code of ethics and behavior, and being trusted with company assets and technology.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships and inspire loyalty while working with customers and vendors.
• Recommend additional and complimentary products.
• Inform customers of current promotions and events.
• Set up advertising displays and arrange merchandise to highlight sales and promotional events.
• Ensure our customers are informed about and enrolled in our Loyalty program.
• Complete cash and other monetary transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a professional store environment and inventory management while communicating any inventory issues.
• Demonstrate our Sally Beauty Culture Values and adhere to our company code of ethics and behavior.
• Trusted with Company Assets and Technology and expected to maintain accurate records as it pertains to the business.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 1+ years retail sales/customer service experience preferred.
• Able to communicate with customers, co-workers, and management in a clear and concise manner.
• Able to execute knowledge from product knowledge training to support with customer service.
• Can read and explain product labels.
• Able to follow direction and perform other duties as assigned by Manager.

Legal

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs, occasionally while on a ladder, with or without accommodation. May be exposed to fumes and odors upon occasion.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• The position requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as shipment or record boxes.
• The position involves working around moving parts, carts, or machines, and may occasionally include exposure to irritant chemicals.
