About the role
The Beautician is responsible for a wide range of services that include the care of hair, skin and nails. This position is responsible for improving the client’s outward appearance and helping them feel better about themselves while maintaining all required professional requirements, licenses and/or certifications and following all safety and health guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Communicates with clients to provide the requested services.
- Sets appointments with clients and takes payment from clients.
- Discusses hair, skin and nail care methods and desired results with clients.
- Cuts, colors, sets, styles client’s hair.
- Keeps work area clean and sanitized.
- Keeps appropriate records.
- Provides effective solutions for common issues with hair, skin and nails.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current certificate confirming the completion of a cosmetology program.
- Active Cosmetology License.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Senior Care Experience.
- Hands-on training necessary as part of a certificate program as well as on-the-job training.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of cosmetology practices.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Compliance with facility policies and regulations.

Pay
The targeted pay range for this job is $19.50 - $22.50 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.
Schedule
This is a casual position. Available hours will fluctuate based on current Resident/Patient needs and census.
