BBC Housekeeping staff will provide housekeeping and janitorial services throughout the entire Brandeis-Bardin Campus of the American Jewish University.

About the Role

The Housekeeping position is responsible for ensuring property is maintained for residents, visitors, and staff. This role partners closely with the hospitality team to ensure spaces are ready for camps and events.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, windows, and fixtures in all assigned areas.
• Waste Management: Empty and clean all trash cans, ensuring proper disposal of waste and recycling materials.
• Bedding and Linens: Change bed linens, fold laundry, and restock towels and toiletries.
• Bathroom Care: Clean and disinfect spaces, including countertops, sinks, and appliances, and maintain the cleanliness of bathrooms.
• Supplies Management: Restock cleaning products, toilet paper, tissues, and other necessary supplies.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
• Reporting Issues: Alert management of any damages, safety hazards, or needed repairs.

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping, hospitality, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented in cleaning and maintaining standards.
• Understanding of how to use various cleaning agents and supplies safely.
• Ability to complete tasks with a sense of urgency and thoroughly.
• Positive and professional attitude.
• Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance.
• Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a secure environment.
• Valid driver's license required (operation of company vehicle to transport between areas of the campus is required for this position).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to work evenings and on weekends, including holidays.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to remain standing for extended periods of time and perform repetitive tasks such as mopping.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry objects (25 lbs.), such as laundry and supplies, climb stairs, and kneel for long periods of time.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Occasional movement throughout campus and to off-site locations may be required.

Pay

$20.00 per hour
