Basic Objectives and Responsibilities
- Bathe residents in accordance with a bathing list or as needed.
- Administer topical treatments as outlined by a licensed health care provider or by a resident’s care plan.
- Work as a team member and assist one another as needed, including providing residents with personal cares and assistance with activities of daily living.
- Absorb residents to and from the dining room, beauty shop, and activities as needed.
- Answer resident call lights as time allows.
- Consistently maintain appropriate personal appearance and hygiene standards.
- Ensure that resident's rights to fair treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, and property rights are followed.
- Aid in creating and maintaining an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis on a clean environment throughout the home.
- Maintain a kind and courteous manner to residents, coworkers, and guests.
- Report all incidents or accidents, regardless of how minor, to the charge nurse as soon as possible.
- Comply with company policy, standards, and licensing regulations.
- Maintain proper charting records as required.
- Observe and report any changes in a resident’s condition to the charge nurse.
Requirements
- Experience as Certified Nursing Assistant/bath aide preferred but not required.
- Able to lift 50 pounds either alone or as part of a 2 person assist.
- Able to pivot while bearing the weight of the resident.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of proper hygiene and safety practices.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a South Dakota Certified Nurse Aide certification within 4 months of hire.
