Batching Operator

About the role

A reliable and detail-oriented Batching Operator, 2nd Shift, is responsible for accurately preparing and measuring raw materials according to established formulations and production schedules. This role requires strict attention to detail to ensure product quality, food safety, and consistency. The Batching Operator follows recipes, monitors mixing and batching equipment, maintains precise records, and adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and accurately record product and raw material inventory with a high attention to detail
• Operate tanks that stir and mix various production materials
• Future automation integration planned
• Utilize pumps, hoses, filters, and scales throughout the blending process
• Verify the weight of raw materials before adding
• Accurately complete labeling and blend information sheets
• Take samples to QC/Lab for approval
• Ensure safe transport and storage of materials
• Inspect batch/product output and product quality throughout process
• Identify and address potential mechanical or product issues before they escalate
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance to prevent downtime
• Work closely with the maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve product/equipment issues quickly
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and sanitation standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Suggest and implement improvements to enhance process/equipment reliability and efficiency
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to drive forklift / obtain forklift certification on site
• Strong basic math and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to train
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Highly organized and detail oriented
