About the role
Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are seeking a self-motivated, hard-working, and dependable Batch Maker to learn, understand, and apply our policies and procedures to manufacture the highest quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires performing duties with minimal supervision, both independently and as part of a team. No travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Work safely and follow all applicable health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure your work area is clean and safe.
- Operate one or more processing units or inter-related semi-automatic or automatic systems.
- Monitor gauges, signal records, and observe color changes in product to ascertain reaction rates.
- Perform chemical or other physical testing during product processing.
- Record data on batch cards and follow QC procedures.
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance of process equipment.
- Handle bulk loading and unloading, and inventory control of raw materials.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency in achieving results.
- Perform any other duties assigned by lead hand and/or management.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Mathematically skilled for volumetric and mass calculations.
- Knowledge of spill clean-up and WHMIS/GHS procedures.
- Experience using hazardous, flammable, and explosive materials.
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prior forklift experience is a plus.
- Flexibility to work overtime, evenings, or nights.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with effective written and oral communication skills.
- Capable of following Batch Cards, Work Orders, Environmental, Health & Safety Policies/Procedures, and Quality Procedures.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
Skills
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used:
- Eye and hearing protection (always required on the production floor).
- Safety shoes (steel/composite) on the production floor.
- Other PPE as defined by management within assigned department.
- Tools and equipment used: Radio, Calculator, Measuring Devices, Hand tools.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing setting (preferred).
Working Conditions
Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to ambient/outside temperatures, dust, mechanical parts, pinch points, and increased noise levels. Hours vary based on shift schedule and business volume, with flexibility for overtime and weekend hours when required. Heavy, stationary machinery is present on the manufacturing floor.
