Batch Roaster Assistant

Responsibilities

• Comply with and enforce security norms, safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Report any work-related injuries to immediate supervisor.
• Present proper employee ID and parking permit upon entering premises.
• Comply with and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food quality standards.
• Carry out activities related to security and quality of the finished product.
• Verify product description and item number matches work order.
• Learn and understand all product varieties processed in the facility.
• Ensure finished product meets customer specifications and requirements.
• Maintain accountability for high-quality standards, integrity, honesty, and fairness.
• Assure product traceability through verification of BAAN lot, supplier lot, and PO number.
• Measure and weigh products for the proper percentage required.
• Maintain records of all materials used via material log.
• Follow product specifications according to orders.
• Dump product with correct percentage into mixer/container for mixing.
• Meet production and quality targets.
• Comply with and enforce cleaning procedures during product changes and machine transitions.
• Enforce cleaning practices using 5's methodology (goal of 94%).
• Clean bins and set up super sacks.
• Initiate oven, set temperature, and cook product according to specifications.
• Communicate regularly with maintenance technicians regarding maintenance issues.
• Weigh, identify, and cover every bin or bag filled.
• Notify supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions within 15 minutes of downtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math and reading skills (English is a plus).
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Dependable, reliable, and mature enough to handle equipment safely.
• Able to work rotating shifts.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift and push up to 35 lbs.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
• Able to stand, walk, stoop, twist, and bend frequently for up to 10 hours.

Skills

• Able to operate a pallet jack and safely move up to 2000 lbs. of product.
