Batch Operations Technician - Durham NC/Hybrid

About the role

The NC Department of Health and Human Services requires the services of a Batch Operations Technician to support the day-to-day batch operation tasks and deliverables related to enterprise batch processing within the NC FAST system’s batch architecture. This position requires working outside of standard business hours to support overnight batch operations. The role is based in Research Triangle Park, Durham, NC 27709 with a hybrid arrangement for a 12+ month contract.

Responsibilities

• Providing production operations support by executing and monitoring batch processes
• Verifying batch results and supporting nightly production environments across multiple servers
• Performing first level analysis of all data interface processing exceptions and logs
• Escalating unresolved issues and problems according to defined on-call support procedures
• Resolving errors and escalating issues, when necessary, by working with functional teams to ensure timely analysis and resolution, in alignment with application service level objectives
• Supporting the batch monitoring team by analyzing production workflows and recommending improvements to job schedule performance
• Providing rapid support during outages and assisting in workload automation forecasting
• Collaborating with the technology design team to ensure backup and recovery systems meet business continuity SLA requirements
• Working with application support teams and business stakeholders to define acceptable service levels and develop incident management procedures

Requirements

• Availability to rotate between three shifts: 5 PM–1 AM, 10 PM–6 AM, and 1 AM–9 AM

Schedule

• Shift rotation: 5 PM to 1 AM, 10 PM to 6 AM, and 1 AM to 9 AM
