Batch Making Operator, 2nd Shift

About the role
As our Batch Making Operator, you will be the baker for our coatings operation. Instead of flour and sugar, you’ll be blending chemicals and pigments with precision, following detailed “recipes” (formula tickets) to produce high-quality industrial coatings. Every batch you create needs to be consistent, safe, and ready to perform. You’ll handle crucial production tasks like operating pumps, valves, and a compactor with precision, perform quality checks, and uphold a clean, organized workspace. Inventory tracking, documenting formula updates, and working with automated systems for raw materials and milling are part of the daily routine.
Responsibilities
- Operate milling pump systems and mix raw materials to produce industrial coatings
- Follow detailed formula tickets to ensure batch consistency and quality
- Handle pumps, valves, and a compactor with precision
- Perform quality checks on batches
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Track inventory and document formula updates
- Work with automated systems for raw materials and milling
- Lift individual paint cans or full cases (up to 75 lbs) several times throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation
Requirements
- Completed high school education
- Confidence navigating basic computer systems (SAP experience is a plus)
- Dedication to safety
Pay
Starting at $23.50/hr. Team members receive a $0.50/hr increase at 6 months and another $0.50/hr increase at one year. A $3/hr shift differential applies for shifts starting at 12 PM or later. Quarterly and holiday bonuses are available.
