Bass Instructor

About the role

We are looking for a Bass Instructor to join our team at School of Rock Wake Forest. As a Bass Instructor, you will be responsible for all music education-related elements within lessons and rehearsals, creating a dynamic experience to ensure students are challenged and inspired. You will positively embody rock and roll and help students learn music and life skills.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction, including private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn the fundamentals of music, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate regularly with parents on student progress after lessons.
• Interact with parents and students by being visible and accessible in the school.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic school maintenance.
• Adhere to the School of Rock Code of Conduct and safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Very strong customer relations skills.
• Resourceful and good problem-solver.
• Works well under pressure.
• Good judgment is a must.
• Passion for teaching.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training.
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor.
