Position Summary
The New Orleans Pelicans are seeking a Basketball Operations Intern to support our Player Development staff during the 2026-2027 basketball season. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about player development, has strong interpersonal skills, and thrives in both administrative and customer-facing settings. This position is part-time, seasonal and will work nights, weekends and holidays based on the Pelicans home game schedule.
Responsibilities
- Assist Player Development staff with administrative and operational tasks
- Ability to attend all Pelicans home games
- Support family check-in on game days, including greeting and escorting families to seats and the family room
- Serve as a runner for back-of-house and player development needs during games and events
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to players, families, and staff while maintaining strict discretion
- Communicate effectively with players, staff, and family members
- Manage minor issues with attention to detail and sound judgment
- Support setup and breakdown of meal spaces and daycare
- Support BBO events as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree (completed Bachelor's degree and actively pursuing Master's degree is preferred)
- Previous experience in sports and/or customer service strongly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information and interactions with discretion
- Reliable transportation and availability to work all home games and assigned events
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality
