About the role

We are Dokter Drenthe, DokNoord and Dokterszorg Friesland, regional organisations of and for general practitioners in the three northern provinces. We support GP practices in many ways so that they have more time for their patients, allowing them to deliver good care 24 hours a day. We promote the wonderful profession of family doctor, where you build long-term relationships with patients. We stimulate intake into the GP training programme by motivating basic doctors to work in a GP practice for a year.

What you will do

• You will work independently quickly, always under the supervision of a GP
• You will hold consultations, make diagnoses, do home visits and perform procedures, at your own pace
• You will write treatment plans or prescribe medication
• You will consult with your colleagues about patients when necessary
• You start at 8:00 AM and finish at 5:00 PM, no out-of-hours shifts

Requirements

• Completed medical studies
• Registered as a basic doctor with the BIG register
• Genuinely interested in general practice care and wanting to gain experience in primary care
• A learning and curious attitude and accurate
• Socially and communicatively skilled, flexible, and exude confidence towards patients
• Flexible attitude and open to new challenges
• Available to work at least 24–38 hours per week for at least 1 year in a GP practice
• Have an eye and ear for what a patient needs
• Have your own transport
• Experience working in an emergency department for a year is an advantage

What we offer

• You will be placed in a practice that needs your efforts and is willing to teach you the ins and outs of the profession
• You will be employed by that practice under the Cao Huisartsenzorg collective labour agreement
• Employment terms to be agreed with the practice
