Base Metals Trader

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance relationships with customers and suppliers
• Identify new opportunities and market strategies for profit growth
• Present competitive commercial proposals based on market analysis
• Execute purchase and sale agreements while managing price exposure
• Monitor market trends and P&L for informed decision-making
• Provide market updates to teams and management
• Oversee the trade lifecycle from capture to resolution
• Cook up with operations for efficient commodity movement
• Negotiate terms to enhance P&L and capital use
• Ensure compliance with all legal and operational standards
• Travel for business as needed, approximately 20-40%

Qualifications

• Experience in physical base metals trading and P&L management
• Strong grasp of global metals markets and pricing mechanisms
• Knowledge of the full trade lifecycle, including logistics and risk controls
• Proven ability to foster trusted relationships with stakeholders
• Excellent analytical and communication skills in a dynamic environment
