What You Will Be Doing
- Acknowledge guests promptly and provide welcoming, attentive service.
- Take beverage and food orders from guests or servers accurately and efficiently.
- Mix, prepare, and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, standards, and responsible alcohol service requirements.
- Process guest payments accurately and immediately for all applicable transactions.
- Request identification when required and follow all legal age verification and alcohol service requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area throughout the shift.
- Order, requisition, restock, and organize liquor, beverages, garnishes, glassware, and bar supplies as needed.
- Arrange bottles, glassware, and displays to support an attractive and professional bar presentation.
- Prepare fruit garnishes, bar snacks, appetizers, and other service items as assigned.
- Assist with Happy Hour buffet restocking and restaurant or lounge service needs when time allows.
- Promote menu items, specials, and available offerings in a guest-focused and professional manner.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel services, amenities, and local information to assist guest inquiries.
- Take ownership of guest concerns and make every effort to resolve issues or involve leadership when needed.
- Use guest names when possible and create a personalized, positive service experience.
- Participate in inventory processes when required.
- Follow company standards, franchise standards, safety procedures, sanitation expectations, and hotel policies.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Must meet the legal age requirement to prepare and serve alcohol in the state of operation.
- Ability to perform essential bartender duties safely, accurately, and consistently.
- Knowledge of beverage preparation, responsible alcohol service, sanitation, and guest-service standards preferred.
- Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to complete routine reports or correspondence when needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, associates, and leaders.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, American money, weights, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions and work with standardized situations.
- Less than a high school education, up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on hotel and Food & Beverage needs.
Physical Requirements
- Regular standing and walking.
- Use of hands to handle objects, tools, and controls.
- Occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
