Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Takes orders from customers or beverage servers.
- Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
- Serves wine and draught or bottled beer.
- Collects money for drinks served.
- Operates a cash register, ringing the proper amount into the register and giving the guest or server the correct change.
- Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display.
- Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks.
- Replenishes bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts where available.
- Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.
- Ensures that designated work areas, flatware, glasses, dinnerware and other used to serve customers are free from hazards (i.e. chips, breaks, cracks, liquid on floor, etc.).
Qualifications
- HS/GED required; must be 21 years of age and have at least 1 year of bartending experience, complete in-house training as bar back/beverage server or be a certified bartender.
- Must have a valid Maricopa County Food Handlers card.
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and be a team player.
- Must be able to work quickly and accurately in stressful situations.
- Must be open to work a flexible schedule and be available nights, weekends and holidays, if necessary.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; secondary smoke and extreme cold.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
