About the Role
The Lounge Bartender plays a vital role in guest satisfaction at the bar, utilizing mixology skills, customer service abilities, and entertainment flair to provide guests with an outstanding experience.
Responsibilities
- Skillfully mix and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and specialty drinks, while adhering to established recipes and standards.
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of the drink menu, including ingredients, flavor profiles, and presentation. Make recommendations to customers based on their preferences.
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner. Take drink orders, offer suggestions, and provide a personalized experience.
- Ensure drinks are visually appealing and well-presented, using garnishes and glassware appropriately to enhance the overall drink experience.
- Prepare the bar area for service, ensuring that all necessary tools, ingredients, and supplies are available. Keep the bar area clean and organized throughout the shift.
- Process payment transactions accurately, manage tabs, and handle cash and credit card transactions. Maintain an organized cash register and provide accurate change.
- Provide entertainment and engage with customers by offering recommendations and creating a lively atmosphere. Tend to guests at the bar, making them feel welcomed and valued.
- Monitor and manage beverage inventory, restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to management. Assist with inventory counts and ordering.
- Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations regarding the sale and consumption of alcohol. Verify customer age and refuse service to underage or intoxicated individuals.
- Work closely with other staff members, including servers, kitchen staff, and management, to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a bartender or in the hospitality industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktail recipes, and beverage presentation.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and active listening skills.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing.
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions
- Extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
