Bartender | Part-Time| The Texas Tech Club

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
• Follow bar pre-shift notes and bar menus, providing service as described.
• Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state/federal regulations.
• Learn or have knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available and suggestively upsell products to guests.
• Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
• Check guest's ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirements for purchasing alcoholic beverages.
• Communicate a cut-off time to guests as required.
• Listen and respond to customer requests or concerns.
• Bartenders are expected to de-escalate intoxicated guest situations.
• Contact management or security if a guest becomes confrontational or belligerent or uses extreme profanity.
• Contact a management member if unable to resolve or make decisions beyond the scope of standard decision-making.
• Request additional products or restock products as required.
• Handle cash accurately, issuing bank at their corresponding bar.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation at all times.
• Ensure bar equipment is clean & well-maintained.
• Assist with set-up and breakdown of bar equipment as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of experience bartending.
• Accurate cash handling skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours.
• Bartending school preferred.
