About the role
The Bartender mixes and serves beverages in a timely and friendly manner, oversees the security of liquor, checks, and cash, and participates in the physical setup and breakdown of the bar. This role serves as the face of the business, providing 5-star guest service, and reports to the Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities
- Offer guests recommendations of drinks to complement food items.
- Know all menu item origins, preparations, and ingredients to make informed recommendations.
- Mix drinks and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
- Complete beverage and general supply requisitions.
- Ensure guest satisfaction and inform management of guest comments and complaints.
- Monitor guests who are over-intoxicated and communicate sightings to management for further evaluation.
- Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management.
- Reset area, clean all indoor and outdoor spaces, and perform side duties assigned by the Manager.
- Assist in organizing kitchen items, including dry goods, equipment, storage containers, and cleaning supplies, as well as proper rotation and organization of all F&B deliveries.
- Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand.
- Enforce and comply with all policies and procedures for the Food and Beverage department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- TIPS trained.
- Six months to one year of related experience preferred.
- Proficient knowledge in all wines by the glass.
- Proficient knowledge of state liquor laws.
- Basic knowledge of alcoholic beverages and cocktail creation methods preferred.
- Knowledge in cash and credit card payment processing.
- Knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, and activities.
- Ability to set up, maintain, and break down the bar area.
- Ability to work outdoors at high elevation for entire shifts.
- Ability to maintain a positive, professional, team-player attitude.
- Ability to maintain the proper care and cleanliness of serving equipment and glassware.
- Ability to serve guests in a timely and friendly manner.
- Familiarity with fire and safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management.
- Ability to ski or ride at an intermediate level is required for employees of ski in/ski out restaurants in the winter.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk, or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Regularly work in wet, hot, and humid conditions for extended periods and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
