Bartender NA-05.

This job is open to candidates who live in the commuting area (the Island of Oahu). If you reside outside of the local commuting area, relocation costs will be at your expense.

Responsibilities

• Operates a full-service bar, mixing and serving the full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Assists customers by discussing beverages available, their contents, and mixing special drinks according to customer direction.
• Records sales, makes change, or prepares charge slips in accordance with operating procedures.
• Stocks bar and keeps records of quantities of beverages dispensed; submits requirements for re-stocking to supervisor.
• Receives and checks quantity and description of stock.
• Keeps bar, utensils, equipment, and work area clean and sanitary.
• Provides work direction for other employees in the bar area.
• Uses tact and courtesy to deny further sales to persons whose conduct has become unruly or who appear to be intoxicated.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required upon appointment.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• Satisfactory completion of employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• One year probationary period may be required.
• A physical examination may be required.
• Must be able to obtain a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and various hours of the day and week when required.
• Must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcohol at the time of appointment.
• Experience as a full-service bartender.
• Possess skills in mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less) and should clearly demonstrate the applicant’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities (KSAs) as they pertain to this position.

• Experience in bartending within the last 2 years.
• Experience in a resort, hotel, nightclub, or restaurant setting.
• Knowledge of Micros POS Systems.

Skills

• Skill in mixing complex drinks.
• Applies simple arithmetic in calculating bills and making change.
• Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and take necessary remedial action.
• Ability to train and guide other employees.
• Good customer relations skills.

Physical Effort

• Regularly lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Stands for prolonged periods.

Working Conditions

• Work is primarily indoors.
• Exposed to cuts and bruises.

Pay

This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week — whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
