About the role
Prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring an exceptional and memorable guest experience while maintaining bar area standards.
Responsibilities
- Assess bar customer needs and preferences to make personalized recommendations.
- Stock and maintain the bar area to resort and health department standards.
- Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests at the bar.
- Set up the bar and bar area according to resort standards, including cutting fruit and preparing garnishes.
- Keep the bar area organized, clean, and well-maintained throughout the shift.
- Know all specialty cocktail ingredients, garnishes, and menu items.
- Follow pouring procedures accurately using a jigger for all drink recipes; no deviations allowed.
- Notify supervisors immediately of product shortages or out-of-stock items.
- Maintain a working knowledge of draft beer systems and keg changes.
- Answer questions about menu selections and drinks for servers and guests.
- Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, and product availability.
- Record all transactions accurately in the MICROS system at the time of order.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and beverages.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glassware, and equipment throughout the day.
- Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, and ensuring par levels are met.
- Present accurate checks to guests and process payments.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to resort standards.
- Anticipate and address guests' service needs with clear and professional communication.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members to achieve common goals.
- Adhere to quality expectations and standards.
- Move, lift, carry, push, or place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
- Assist supervisors with inventory as needed.
- Notify management promptly of suspicious IDs or intoxicated guests.
- Handle cash banks accurately and transfer checks for guests moving to different sections.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate with peers, management, and front-of-house staff.
- Practice effective listening and seek to understand guest needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of the immediate work area and general property.
- Follow proper grooming, dress, and uniform standards as set by resort policy.
- Be courteous to all guests and coworkers.
- Maintain behavior consistent with the resort’s sexual harassment and hostile work environment policies.
- Possess complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes.
- Be familiar with hotel services, features, and local attractions to respond accurately to guest inquiries.

Experience, Education, & Licensure
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be RBS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire.
- Must have a current Food Handlers card.
- Previous bartending experience in a professional setting is preferred.
Pay
Base pay start rate: $16.90 per hour plus tips.
