Bartender - HRC Los Angeles

About the role

The Bartender is the first point of service for guests before they arrive at their tables. As a Hard Rock Cafe bartender, you will serve as a tour guide, communicator, showman, decision-maker, memorabilia curator, and musician (at heart), creating memorable experiences and "Raving Fans."

Responsibilities

• Prepare drinks according to spec recipes.
• Demonstrate responsible alcohol service.
• Serve food and handle cash and other forms of payment.
• Process sales transactions using a point-of-sale system.
• Check IDs for guests who appear under 30 years old.
• Maintain proper cash drawer balances.
• Direct guests to areas and restrooms.
• Demonstrate impeccable product knowledge and use suggestive selling techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including proper sanitation of equipment, utensils, and glassware.
• Maintain proper product inventory and pars through bar pulls and stocking liquor, beer, wine, and glassware.
• Properly label, date, cover, and refrigerate prepped items for the bar.
• Perform opening, closing, and side duties, such as setting up/breaking down the bar, cleaning, and sweeping.
• Answer guest questions accurately and politely.
• Create memorable guest experiences and entertain guests.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of high-volume bartending experience.
• Food safety certification or food handlers card may be required depending on state regulations.
• Must be at least 19 years old; some states require a minimum age of 21 to serve alcohol (e.g., Nevada).
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate organization, attention to detail, and urgency.
• Positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and move throughout the bar for extended periods.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Repeating movements of arms, hands, and wrists, including manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, balance, or carry objects up to 10 pounds occasionally, regularly, or frequently.
• Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
• Tolerance for exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environments.
• Ability to travel via auto or airplane for long periods if required.

Pay

Pay Range: $2 - $25 per hour.
