About the role

As a Bartender, you’ll mix and serve beverages according to standards, take food orders, and ensure responsible alcohol service while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Greet all guests in a friendly, positive manner, making personal connections to ensure they feel welcome and valued
- Verify guest age and proper ID for alcohol service
- Limit problems and liability related to excessive drinking by intervening with customers, arranging transportation, or refusing service
- Inspect bar prior to shift for adequate supplies, prepare garnishes, set up mixers, and pre-mix drinks following safety procedures
- Stock glasses, liquors, beers, and wines; follow setup procedures (well, ice, garnishes) upon opening
- Mix, prepare, and serve drinks according to standard recipes
- Collect payment, reconcile cash drawer, and ensure all orders are entered into the POS system
- Run and cash out keno tickets; reconcile keno cash drawer
- Maintain and clean bar area and equipment; request supplies as needed
- Advise supervisor of guest complaints and take initiative to resolve issues following One More Step guidelines
- Clean and close down the bar at the end of the night according to procedures
- Assist with monthly cleaning and routine maintenance of bar equipment
- Follow proper “to-go” order guidelines and adhere to all social district rules, if applicable
- Follow all Suburban Inns processes and exhibit regular attendance
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Requirements
- Ability to interpret information and perform arithmetic functions
- Good communication skills
- TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol Certification (may be completed upon hire)
- Work schedule varies between day, evening, night, holiday, and weekend shifts based on business demands
Uniform and Appearance Guidelines
- Uniform: Shirt and nametag provided; team members must supply their own black slacks or dark-wash jeans (no holes, no yoga-style) and black, close-toed, non-slip shoes
- Appearance: Hair must be well-groomed; facial piercings and visible tattoos require management approval. Tattoos deemed offensive based on racial, sexual, religious, ethnic, or other sensitive characteristics must remain covered at all times

Pay
Competitive start pay, negotiable based on experience. This position can be used as a paid internship.
