Bartender - Besos y Abrazos

Responsibilities

• Provide an energetic, outgoing, fun personality while maintaining professionalism.
• Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of the proper steps of service.
• Offer polite, professional, and courteous customer service.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and guests.
• Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails and other drinks according to drink recipes.
• Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer.
• Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from guests.
• Communicate effectively, clearly, patiently, and humorously with co-workers and guests.
• Complete all side work as assigned.
• Be well-versed in the products to guide the guest experience and sell food and beverage items.
• Check guests’ identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption.
• Present and encourage current promotions to guests.
• Accurately record and account for all items ordered and secure payment from guests.
• Accurately account for all sales and receipts and record tips as outlined in company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• At least 1-2 years of experience bartending at high-volume bars and/or nightclubs.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods, and garnishments.
• Formal bartending training preferred.
• Must meet state legal age requirements.
• Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.

Skills

• Communication skills utilized frequently when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors.
• Reading and writing abilities used often when taking orders and completing paperwork.
• Mathematical skills, including basic math, used frequently.
• Ability to handle, carry, or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds (barware, boxes, bottles, etc.).
• Ability to move about the bar, lounge, and kitchen efficiently and safely.
• Ability to handle food, objects, products, and utensils effectively and safely.
• Ability to bend, stand, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.

Schedule

May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
