Bartender

Pyramid Global Hospitality is a leading hospitality management company with a portfolio of more than 200 hotels and resorts and over 18,000 associates across the United States, Caribbean, and Europe. The Virginia Guesthouse, opening in April 2026, is a 214‑room hotel featuring 25,000 sq ft of conference and event space on the grounds of the University of Virginia.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated, customer‑focused Bartender to join our team at the Virginia Guesthouse. The Bartender is responsible for delivering memorable hospitality to guests with genuine, personable connections from the initial greeting to departure.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests as they arrive or move about the bar area.
• Maintain proper and adequate set‑up of the bar daily.
• Guide guests on their beverage journey through descriptive selling of the menu.
• Accurately take orders and confirm all special requests.
• Master the bar, understanding details to enhance conversation.
• Work collaboratively with restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff.
• Assist guests with concerns and guide them to a resolution that leaves them happy.
• Finalize the experience through timely and accurate bill presentation.
• Requisition and stock all beer, wine, and spirits.
• Maintain stock, cut, and store fresh fruit, vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
• Mix, garnish, and present drinks following standard recipes and practicing portion control.
• Input orders into the point‑of‑sale register and create a check for each guest.
• Lock up and store all beverages, food, and equipment items; deposit cash drops and secure the bank.

Requirements

• Engaging and welcoming personality.
• Current bartender’s certification or appropriate license.
• Knowledge of the latest mixology trends.
• Strong descriptive selling ability.
• 2–4 years of bartender experience.
• Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Passion for creating an exceptional guest experience.
• Excellent communication skills.

Pay

Compensation: $10.00 per hour plus tips.
