Job Summary (Essential Functions)
The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to members and guests while maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar. This hands-on role supports the Head Bartender and works closely with barbacks, servers, and management to ensure timely, professional, and high-quality service in all club outlets.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to club standards.
- Provides attentive, friendly service to members and guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Maintains a clean and organized bar area, including restocking supplies, glassware, and garnishes.
- Affords assistance in managing beverage inventory and communicates shortages to the Head Bartender or Food & Beverage Supervisor.
- Follows responsible alcohol service guidelines at all times.
- Works collaboratively with barbacks, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
- Affords support for special events, banquets, and club functions as needed.
- Participates in ongoing training and development to improve service and product knowledge.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Bartender, Food & Beverage Supervisor, or Clubhouse Manager.
Education And/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality or mixology preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of bartending experience in a restaurant, club, or hospitality environment.
- Prior experience in a member-based or high-end service environment preferred.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies And Expectations
- Knowledge of beverage preparation, mixology, wine, beer, and spirits.
- Ability to provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to members and guests.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to work collaboratively with bar and service staff.
- Ability to maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked bar areas.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and responsible alcohol service.
- Commitment to high standards of safety, sanitation, and member-focused hospitality.
Licenses And Special Requirements
- TIPS or equivalent responsible alcohol service certification required.
- ServSafe Alcohol or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of cocktail, beer, and wine trends preferred.

Physical Demands And Work Environment
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Fast-paced environment requiring quick movement, multitasking, and bending/stooping.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak service.
