About the role

The Press Hotel is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Server. This role involves greeting, seating, and taking orders from guests, ensuring they have a memorable dining experience. You will be responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service, adhering to beverage and food standards, and communicating inventory needs to the appropriate manager.

Responsibilities

• Greet, direct, and seat guests
• Serve food and beverages according to company standards
• Communicate inventory needs to the manager
• Be knowledgeable about all menu offerings and make pairing suggestions
• Use suggestive selling techniques
• Understand and practice safe serving practices related to alcohol service
• Anticipate and meet guest needs
• Complete pre-shift tasks such as preparing garnishes and creating syrups
• Perform closing tasks like cleaning and restocking
• Operate efficiently during peak service times
• Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate issues as necessary
• Ensure cleanliness and safety in all areas

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of food and beverage service, and the ability to multitask. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional service are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Knowledge of safe serving practices
• Basic computer skills
