Bartender

About the Role

The Bartender at The Maybourne Beverly Hills will prepare and serve drinks, mixing classic and innovative beverages to meet guests' needs and expectations. This role empowers you to create unforgettable moments, respond to guest needs with urgency, and contribute to a team-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Mix drinks, cocktails, and other bar beverages in compliance with hotel standard drink recipes.
• Upsell and suggest beverage options to guests.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all beverage brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes.
• Ensure the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products for mixing beverages and serving guests.
• Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization, and cleanliness.
• Open and serve wine/champagne bottles according to departmental standards.
• Anticipate and respond promptly to guests' needs with a sense of urgency.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and respectfully.
• Adhere to payment, cash handling, and credit policies/procedures.
• Manage an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures per hotel standards.
• Work as a team and communicate effectively with management, bartenders, and service staff.
• Assist with Food & Beverage responsibilities during high-volume periods or staff absences.

Requirements

• 3 years of restaurant experience and/or 2 years of bartending experience in a similar establishment.
• Extensive knowledge of spirits, wine, and food.
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Proficiency in reading and writing English.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evening/overnight shifts.
• Must be 21 years of age with RBS and Food Handlers cards.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.
• Occasionally reach with hands and arms, overhead, above shoulders, and horizontally.
• Use hands to handle objects, tools, and operate service equipment.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., carry heavy trays and equipment, and handle delicate china and barware.
• Ability to endure abundant physical movements in fluctuating indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
