About the Role

The Greggory is a new restaurant opening in the Arboretum of South Barrington, reimagining American classics with warm, heartfelt hospitality. Led by seasoned restaurateurs Gregg Horan (Gibsons Restaurant Group) and Bill Veremis (Rosewood Steakhouse Group), alongside Executive Chef Jose Sosa (Gibsons Italia), The Greggory offers a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere. The restaurant features live-fire cooking in an open kitchen, serving prime cuts of beef, fresh seafood, and homemade pastas, blending culinary traditions with unmatched warmth and personality.

Responsibilities

• Provide all guests with a memorable experience
• Greet guests and take drink and food orders
• Prepare drinks consistently and accurately
• Make drinks for waitstaff
• Stay attentive to the needs of guests at the bar
• Deliver food from the kitchen to guests
• Ensure food orders are correctly prepared and presented by kitchen staff
• Follow health code standards for food handling
• Perform shift duties such as delivering racks of cups, rolling silverware, pre-bussing tables, wiping tables, and removing debris

Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods (8-hour shift)
• Practice safe alcohol service
• Legally of age to serve alcohol in the City of Chicago
• Food safety knowledge
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Speed and finesse are a must
• Meet all company standards
• Maintain a positive attitude with self, guests, and teammates
• Complete all ongoing certifications/validations
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Toast experience preferred
• 1+ years of bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
